A review of a cheap Mini DV Spy Micro SD Cam. Got mine from Ebay – but also available from Maplin in the UK (as well as loads of other retailers online). Apologies for the length of the video. PLEASE NOTE – THE JERKYNESS IS ACTUALLY DOWN TO THE CHEAPO MEMORY CARD USED, NOT THE CAMERA.

The time/date stamp was a problem on some of the later models of this camera that were copies of the original one. Mine doesn’t show the time and date so I can’t comment – but I believe that someone has posted a video response and also given instructions of how to fix this very problem in the comments to this video. Have a look at some of the older comments and you should find it.
Thanks for the video – ordered one of these based quite a lot on your review, and I have been very pleased. No stutter or jerky motion with the 4GB SD card I’m using.
Only question I have is whether you know how to remove/disable the automatic date stamp on recordings? Thanks!
that was Sayid for sure!
as far as i know they are made by “Spectra Optics”
Yes – I think I would now. Also the fact that the price has reduced considerably since I bought mine helps.
Sorry, would you recommend it now you fixed the jerky motion by changing to a decent SD card? cheers
@Techmoan THANKS SO SO MUCH!!!
Yes – those look like they’ll do the job.
@Techmoan can i not use a USB DVR? cheak em on EBAY – it wont let me post the link – and then let me know if it will work for my laptop – IF YOU HAVE TIME – Thanks
I’ve got a wireless spy cam somewhere in a drawer – it transmits to a receiver that goes into a video phono plug that has to be attached to a TV. If your camera and receiver is like this, you would need a video capture device so you could view the video on a PC.
Hello! – -( nothing to do with the vid i just want your help please) im getten a wireless spy cam – and i want to know how can i watch it on my laptop? do i need a USB DVR? Thanks
Yes – It charges through USB on a computer – that’s how I charge mine.
Hello ! I have a question : This camera may be charge thought a computer (on USB) or not ? Beacause I live in France and if i buy this camera, i can’t charge it (or use an adapter …) thanks.
thank you for the information , i appreciate it
thanks for your time,my disk is unreadable i have no instructions
i am very happy with it, got one on ebay for $16, nothing comes close at that price and works well for what i use it for, on board rc videos.
3:37 –> “No that wasn’t Sayid…” LOL!!!
Can you PLEASE send me manual from CD?
@Nookbart
Is your SD card inserted all the way, alot of people were not inserting it all the way, it should not stick out at all
Hi all, To edit the Tag TXT first copy from you cd to notepad, there you can edit date and time,thensave as your root dir of your card
